Counterterrorism Technology

  • NCITE augments reality to help visualize complex datasets to keep us safe. Computer scientists at San Diego State University embed with U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agents and the Transportation Security Administration to help them see what is important and when to identify potential bad actors.
  • NCITE supports the rollout of advanced decision-support tools for supervision officers who monitor and support the reentry of former extremists back into society. The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts has designed next-gen decision support tools, NCITE human-computer interaction experts at UNO will make sure that the supervising officers have the tools they need to best support offender reentry and help former extremists leave their past violent ideologies behind.
  • NCITE researchers at the University of Oklahoma study disinformation on social media that is used to divide us. Using sentiment analysis to differentiate bots from humans, this collaborative team will study how bad actors influence Americans online.
