About the Committee

The University Committee on Excellence in Teaching is responsible for the selection of the recipients of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Excellence in Teaching Award. The committee shall make its recommendations to the chancellor.

The Excellence in Teaching Award at UNO was established in 1969 to recognize superior efforts, dedication and exemplary conduct in the performance of the university's first task - the education of its students.

Resolution 4373, 5/8/19: Excellence in Teaching Award, University Committee on: BE IT RESOLVED, that the following faculty members be recommended for service as three-year appointments, from 08/01/19, through 07/31/22, on the University Committee on Excellence in Teaching. Resolution 2595, 09/12/01: Committee on RulesBE IT RESOLVED, thatCassia Spohnbe recommended for serviceon the University Committee on Excellence in Teaching to serve a three-year term from August 1, 2001, through July 31, 2004, replacing Philip Secret (PACS, 08/01/98 to 07/31/01) who was appointed by the chancellor prior to the Faculty Senate taking over the appointment ofall faculty members.

Resolution 2527 12/13/00: Committee on RulesBE IT RESOLVED, that the following faculty be recommended for service on the University Committee on Excellence in Teaching to serve three-year terms from November 8, 2000, through July 31, 2003. Two members should be recipients of the award and one member should be untenured, if possible. This is also the first time the new position of ‘first year faculty member holding a Ph.D.' is added as charged by the chancellor's Task Force on University Committees (Committee on Committees).
