This collection of training webinars examines the intersection of culture, disability, and dating violence among youth, including Mexican-heritage and Latinx adolescents who are pregnant or parenting. Topics include the impact of cultural contexts, the dating experiences of adolescents with disabilities, and evidence-based strategies for assessing and preventing dating violence.

Teen Dating: Culture and Dating Violence 

Speaker: Heidi Rueda, PhD | 1 CEU $10 | WATCH NOW

Skill Level: Intermediate | This session explores the intersection of culture with dating violence, specifically Dr. Rueda's decade or research on conflict and teen dating violence among Mexican-heritage youth. You will learn to understand how cultural contexts shape dating and dating violence, including among Latinx youth who are pregnant and parenting. Recorded February 2023.

Teen Dating: Disability and Dating Violence 

Speaker: Heidi Rueda, PhD | 1 CEU $10 | WATCH NOW

Skill Level: Intermediate | This session explores disability, dating, and dating violence. Despite the fact that youth with disabilities desire intimate relationships and have sexual intercourse at the same of higher rates as other youth, their sexuality is stigmatized, and they are often thought of as asexual. This session includes research on social workers' perspectives on these needs and dating experiences of adolescents with disabilities, including their heightened risk for dating violence victimization. Teen Dating: Healthy and Unhealthy Relationships 

Speaker: Heidi Rueda, PhD | 1 CEU $10 | WATCH NOW

Skill Level: Intermediate | Learners will take away an enhanced understanding of dating as an important developmental milestone and learn about various types of dating violence, corresponding assessment, and preventative interventions. Recorded February 2023.
