Speech Center Ambassador Position

If awarded this position, you will receive $200 scholarly funding to attend conferences/academic events for your courses. While this is a funded position, this position would still be considered service to the university. As a Speech Center Ambassador, your job would include the following tasks as related to Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters:

  • Hold (1) 60 minute workshop in the Speech Center as related to presentation assignments in your course(s). Details on date/time/location (Speech Center ASH 185/Zoom) would need to be determined and discussed with the Speech Center Director at least 3 weeks prior to the date. These workshops can be to teach students Speech/Presentation tips/tricks OR faculty/staff related elements for their courses/needs. Topics will need to be set and pre-approved by the Speech Center Director.
  • Promote all Speech Center events to colleagues and students within your department. Please cc unospeechcenter@unomaha.edu on emails.
  • Strongly encourage students to use the Speech center for presentation assignments.
  • Provide feedback about and help us brainstorm ways to improve the UNO Speech Center twice a semester.
