Competency-Based Education (CBE)
The center supports efforts to design and expand competency-based education (CBE) at UNO, including a campus-wide CBE framework, learning maps that connect academic competencies to career outcomes, and faculty training and resources to integrate CBE into curricula.
Skills Lab
The Skills Lab connects academics and industry to assess, validate, and build workforce-relevant skills, creating a campuswide framework that enhances career readiness and economic mobility at UNO.
Future of Work Symposium
Launched in 2022, the Future of Work Symposium Series brings together leaders from business, education, government, and nonprofit sectors. These conversations explore the trends transforming work and inform UNO’s academic and workforce initiatives. This series ensures UNO remains responsive, innovative, and future-ready.
Workforce Partnerships
Education should work for working professionals. We’re here to support learners at every stage. UNO collaborates directly with employers to remove barriers to education. Through the program employers fund employees’ learning. Working professionals gain flexible, career-relevant upskilling and reskilling pathways.

The CCSW is proud to be an inaugural recipient of the Weitz Innovation and Excellence Fund. This fund supports strategic UNO priorities with the goal of elevating programs to national recognition while addressing critical needs in Omaha and across the state of Nebraska.
