  4. Update on Documents

Effective February 9, 2026

The email below was sent, in conjunction with the UNO Digital Accessibility Group and UNO Compliance, to all Cascade users in January 2026.

Attached is a report listing all files currently housed within your subsite.

This list is not a report of accessible PDFs. Rather, it is an inventory of files currently contained within your site. Please review all files, including Word documents, Excel files, and PowerPoint files. If they are no longer needed, please delete them from Cascade. If they are needed, ensure they are accessible, or transfer the content to a webpage.

We ask that you:

  • Confirm that all essential files meet accessibility standards

  • Review and delete any files that are no longer essential

If you need to keep the file for your records, please download it from Cascade and save it to your computer, or in a SharePoint folder, then delete the file from Cascade.

PLEASE NOTE: Beginning February 9, 2026, new PDFs, Excel files, Word documents, and PowerPoint files/slides will no longer be uploadable to Cascade.

This temporary measure is intended to ensure UNO’s website remains free of non-accessible files while we work to meet the ADA Title II deadline (April 24, 2026).

The Digital Accessibility Group is actively evaluating long-term solutions and will communicate updates to Cascade users as decisions are made.

If you are still in the process of reviewing your files, you will be able to upload existing files to Cascade during this period:

  • Go to the file in Cascade
  • Click Edit
  • Drag the new, accessible version onto the page or navigate to where the file is located via the “Browse” option and select it
  • Click Submit
  • Publish the file

Thank you for your support as we work to ensure the UNO website is ADA Title II compliant.
