About the Symposium
In late October 2020 the Hagel Symposium will virtually bring high school students from the greater Omaha metropolitan area together for an expert discussion on public service.
The goal of the Symposium is to introduce Omaha’s best and brightest young people to the value and impact of civic engagement, leadership, and service.
The asynchronous event will consist of three pre-recorded parts: an approximate 90-minute introduction and keynote by Chuck Hagel, UNO alumnus (B.A. 1971), United States Army veteran (Vietnam 1968), former United States Senator (1997–2009), and former Secretary of Defense (2013-2015).
Following the keynote, there will be a Q&A to students’ submitted questions, and two of our most popular past symposium sessions, each about 40-45 minutes in length.
If you are a high school student, educator, UNO faculty member, or member of the public who would like more information about the Hagel Symposium and future UNO events, please contact Joe Price, Ph.D., at email@example.com or 402.554.2545.
