How Do I Register?
Executive and Professional Development Programs are non-credit, therefore are not eligible for traditional forms of financial aid. Occasionally scholarships are available to help with registration fees.
Consult your company’s HR department or your manager/supervisor to see if there are any company funds available for professional development.
What is included in the registration fee?
For in-person sessions, the program fee includes tuition, course handout, snacks and beverages.
For online sessions, the program fee includes tuition, pdf of the course handout and access to Zoom.
Is there any work I have to do before the class starts?
Occasionally, you may need to do some pre-work before coming to class, you will receive a welcome email approximately 2 weeks prior to the beginning of your session. If any pre-work is required, it will be mentioned in this email.
Do I need to bring a laptop or any materials?
We will provide you with a course manual where you can take notes if you wish. If a class is on Zoom, you will need to use your personal laptop or desktop.
Where are classes held?
Unless otherwise noted, all classes are held at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, College of Business Administration, 6708 Pine Street, Omaha, NE 68182.
What is the deadline for registration?
We encourage you to register as early as possible as some courses fill quickly. To be considerate to our current registrants and instructors, we make our class go/no go decision 7 days prior to the class – if our courses do not have enough students registered, we will cancel/reschedule the class.
What is the difference between a certificate and a certification?
You will receive a Certificate from the University of Nebraska Omaha College of Business for the courses that you are registered in. These courses are designed to provide you with career skills and prepare you for a specific function.
A certification is a recognized credential that confirms your ability in a particular area. It details a qualification, competence or authority issued to an individual by a third party. Certifications are often offered through professional organizations and usually require passing an exam.
The Executive and Professional Development Program offers the PMP Exam Prep and the SHRM-CP SHRM-SCP Exam Prep courses. These courses prepare you to take the exam for that respective credential, once you pass the exam, you will receive a credential for that profession. (The exam is not a part of the course.)
All withdrawal or deferral notifications must be sent in writing via email to email@example.com. Confirmed registrants who do not attend their course(s) are liable for the entire registeration fee.
A full refund may only be obtained if notification is received at least 10 days prior to the program start date. Due to program preparation and administration costs, any withdrawals or deferrals received less than 10 days prior to the program start date are subject to penalty fees as described below:
- More than 10 days' notice: Full refund minus $50 administrative fee.
- 10 to 3 days' notice; 50% Refund OR 100% deferral to the next program.
- Less than 2 days' notice: 0% OR Refund OR 100% deferral to the next program.
Deferrals: Participants may defer to a future program; transfers are valid only within one year of the original program start date. It is the responsibility of the participants to enroll in a course, at which time the balance will transfer. After one year, the balance is nonrefundable.
How do you handle weather/public emergencies? In the event of impending severe weather or other public emergencies, you will receive an email with notice of a start delay or course cancellation. If the University of Nebraska at Omaha classes are canceled or delayed, the Executive and Professional Development courses will follow the same guidelines.
Do you have accessibility accommodations?
We seek to create an inclusive environment where everyone can fully participate. If you need accessibility accommodation, please email the contact person for your program at least 14 days prior to class. All requests and inquiries are confidential.
