Biodiversity in the Tropical Watershed of Belize | Study Abroad

Dr. Roxi Kellar took her "Special Topics: Study Abroad – Biodiversity in the Tropical Watershed of Belize" class abroad to Central America. The main goals of the course were to teach students about the importance of and threats to Earth’s biodiversity and the challenges and potential solutions to conservation of ecosystems and species, focusing on the varied ecosystems in the small, Central American country of Belize. Of course, ultimately, many more things were learned and experienced than just this!

Following are one-line quotes from students about the course:

“I learned as much about myself as I did about Belize.”

“Great , eye-opening experience.”

“There was so much life seen in a short amount of time.”

“Once in a lifetime experience; would do it again in a heartbeat.”

“Belize is a wonderful country whose lush forests and beautiful cayes were a privilege to experience.”

“The best way to learn about a country is to go beyond the books.”

“The Belize study abroad course is the best, experiencing the Belizean culture first-hand is truly beneficial.”
