How to Add Alternative Text to Images

If there is an image on the page that does not have alternative text, a yellow box will appear at the top of the Cascade page and display a warning along with the image file name. The image missing alt text will also be outlined in yellow. If there are multiple images, they will all be listed and outlined.

Adding Alt Text to a Feature Area

Click Edit

Navigate to the Feature section of the template where the image is located

Add alt text to the provided field

Sidebar images are located under Sidebar >> Feature >> This Page Only

Adding Alt Text to WYSIWYG

Click Edit

Navigate to the WYSIWYG/Content Block section of the template where the image is located

Click the image

Navigate to the toolbar and click the image icon

A dialog box will pop up on your screen

Add alt text to the provided field

*If "This is a decorative image box..." is checked, uncheck it. All images on UNO's website must have alternative text.

 

No 'Regional/Local Footer' has been selected.

If desired, use the 'site: UNO Digital Accessibility/_includes/footer-local' file to either choose a 'Regional Footer' or use the 'Local Footer' option.
