Upcoming: Monday, October 20, 2025 | 9 A.M. - 3 P.M.

About the Symposium

The strength of any country is its people. [...] It is the people, the individuals, who make the difference in life and in the world. – Chuck Hagel

Former United States Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and UNO are pleased to present the Chuck Hagel Symposium in Public Service.

The goal of the Symposium is to introduce young people to the impact and value of civic engagement, leadership, and service. The annual event began in 2018 and has been held in person and virtually.

High school students from the greater Omaha metropolitan area are invited to participate and the events help students engage with experts in the fields of law, ethics, and public policy — all sharing their perspectives on public service.

Upcoming: Monday, October 20, 2025 | 9 A.M. - 3 P.M.
