Scott Vlasek is an expert in aviation management, aviation education, and career pathways in the aviation industry, with a focus on general and corporate aviation services.

Biography

Scott Vlasek is the Director of the Aviation Institute at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). He holds a Master of Public Administration degree with an aviation administration concentration and a bachelor’s degree in aviation studies, both from UNO.  

Vlasek has made significant contributions to national aviation organizations. He is a two-time National Coach of the Year recipient from the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA), receiving the prestigious honor in 2014 and 2022.

Under his leadership, the Flight Team achieved remarkable success, winning the prestigious Loening Trophy in 2012. In addition to his academic and coaching accomplishments, Vlasek has demonstrated exemplary leadership within Alpha Eta Rho (AHP) International. His influence and impact are evident in his roles as National Treasurer from 2014 to 2020 and National President from 2020 to 2023.

His extensive experience and unwavering commitment to aviation continue to impact the industry and the students he mentors. In 2024, Vlasek was elected Board of Trustee Education Member to the University Aviation Association.
