Biography
Sam Clinkinbeard, Ph.D., is an Elizabeth Reynolds & Beverly Reynolds Professor in UNO’s School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, as well as the school’s Doctoral Program Coordinator.
Clinkinbeard's research focuses on women and gender in law enforcement, workforce recruitment and retention, career motivation and identity, and police officer mental health and wellness. Much of her work is applied in nature, conducted in direct partnership with law enforcement agencies and professional organizations — including multi-year program evaluations with the Omaha Police Department and collaborative research with the International Association of Women Police. Her research has been published in numerous journals, including Justice Quarterly, Criminal Justice and Behavior, Policing: A Journal of Policy and Practice, and more.
