Biography
Matt Hale, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Cybersecurity and the Director of UNO’s School of Interdisciplinary Informatics, teaching secure web application development, secure Internet of Things applications, and information security and policy.
Hale’s research interests focus on the intersection between security, web services, software engineering and behavioral psychology, including topics related to online privacy and security, phishing and social media scam prevention, Cloud-based web services and more. Hale is the founder and PI on the MATRIX project (Machine learning, AI, and Threat Response Initiative for cybersecurity eXcellence) and has been awarded more than $7.3M in funding for research and grant projects, including by the National Science Foundation, National Security Agency, U.S. Department of Transportation and more.
