Jeanne Reames is an expert on Alexander the Great, ancient Macedonia, and ancient Greek history, including Greek myth, religion, warfare, and gender.
Biography
Jeanne Reames Ph.D. is a historian and professor in UNO’s Department of History, where she teaches courses on Alexander the Great, ancient Greek history, myth, religion, warfare, and gender, Rome and the Early Church, and Mesopotamia and Pre-Islamic Persia.
Reames has authored more than a dozen academic articles and book chapters on Alexander the Great and his court, has appeared twice for The History Channel on episodes about Alexander, and was also the series historical consultant for Netflix’s ‘Alexander: The Making of a God.’ She has edited two books, is working on a monograph about Alexander’s court, and also has a coming-of-age historical fiction duology about the young Alexander before he became “the Great,” titled Dancing with the Lion.
