Cynthia Robinson, Ph.D., is an expert in cultural and interpersonal communication, with research focused on identity, race, and Black cultural identity.
Biography
Robinson’s research examines how cultural identity shapes communication and relationships, offering insights into intercultural dynamics. She has working with media on topics such as intercultural communication, race and identity, and Black American film, providing context and understanding of diverse cultural perspectives.
Merging the two disciplines of Black Studies and Communication Studies has allowed course development that teaches students to think critically about intersections of race, culture, and identity, and a qualitative research path that examines intersections of cultural identity and cultural dominance
