Peer Success Mentor Program
The Peer Success Mentor program was started in Fall 2016. It is a joint effort between the Division of Student Success, Enrollment Management, and Digital Learning.
The program is currently a part of the Office of Strategic Retention Programs in the Division of Student Success. The program was established to provide proactive help for new undergraduate students who transferred from another institution and/or were taking online classes; two populations that often need more assistance in connecting with the campus community and resources.
It has since expanded to any incoming undergraduate student who is not connected to another learning community or lifeboat group on campus. Starting at a new university can be a big step for anyone and the goal here is to just make sure that each student who comes to UNO has all the resources and support they need to succeed.
While we typically only reach out to the students who fit the aforementioned criteria, any student (potential or enrolled) who needs assistance is welcome to reach out.
