Formal Application Process

Application Deadlines:

Fall - July 1

Spring - November 1

Summer - April 1

Application Requirements
  • Online Application through Graduate Studies
  • One official copy of transcripts for ALL institutions previously attended
  • Application Fee
  • If English is not the language of nurture, official test scores from the TOEFL, IELTS, PTE or Duolingo exam are required
  • 500 on the written TOEFL
  • 173 on the computer-based TOEFL
  • 61 on the internet-based TOEFL
  • 5.5 on the IELTS
  • 44 on the PTE
  • 105 on the Duolingo
  • Minimum GPA of at least 3.0 in undergraduate courses related to proposed major
Program-Specific Requirements for SPED Generalists / BIS / ABA
  • Two Letters of Recommendation. Must submit the name and email of two persons who are well acquainted with the applicant’s undergraduate academic work, the applicant’s potential to do graduate work, and/or the applicant’s professional competence.
  • Statement of Purpose. Include a formal written statement, at least one page in length, of why you want to pursue a Master's degree in Special Education in Generalist or Behavior Intervention Specialist. Explain your current job/position, career goals and additional experiences with individuals with disabilities.
  • Copy of Teaching Certificate
