Graduate Assistantships

Pursue your degree while working in a state-of-the-art research facility with almost 60,000 square feet dedicated to research in biomechanics!

We offer both a Master of Science and a Ph.D. Current research faculty specialize in a range of topics in biomechanics including:

  • Motor learning and control
  • Nonlinear dynamics
  • Human and animal movement variability
  • Aging
  • Prosthetic and assistive device development
  • Cardiovascular biomechanics
  • Computational modeling
  • Exoskeletons
  • Exosuits
  • Bioinspired robotics
  • Rehabilitative biomechanics in patient populations, including:
    • Stroke
    • Peripheral arterial disease
    • Parkinson’s disease
    • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
    • Total Knee Arthroplasty
    • Diabetes

Qualified applicants must meet admission requirements for the desired degree program and be admitted into the program before being eligible for an assistantship.

If you wish to apply for a Graduate Assistantship through the Department of Biomechanics, you can search for open positions.

This application is in addition to the application required for entrance into the graduate program.

Applicants are encouraged to submit all application materials for the degree program by February 1st to be considered for a graduate assistantship.

Doctoral applicants should work with their faculty mentor to apply.
