Required of all Students
- A student's immunization record must show proof of two separate MMR shots showing month, day, and year it was given OR a copy of a positive rubeola blood (titre) lab test result showing immunity. A copy of this information needs to be submitted.
- Places to look for an immunization record can include any of the following: school immunization record from your high school, previous attended university/college, healthcare provider's office, public health department, or a military record.
- The record must show the MMR shots to be after a student's first birthday and after January 1, 1968.
- If a student just received an MMR and needs to receive another shot to compete the health requirement, you will need to wait 30 days before receiving your second MMR. The health hold is removed during this time.
- If you were born before January 1, 1957 you do not need to submit records or additional information.
- The MMR vaccine and lab services to perform a rubeola blood titre if needed are available in Health Services with no appointment needed.
Meningococcal Vaccine
Meningococcal disease is a rare infection with potentially devastating results. The vaccine is recommended for the first year students living in university housing but is not required by the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
