Presented by the Wellness Center as an on–going mission to inform, educate, and empower the campus community to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Sponsored by Noodles & Company.
This event is open to the entire university community and will feature over 90 vendors, free screenings, door prizes and free giveaways, free chair massage, and the Annual Wellness Blood Screening.
Volunteers make this event more and more successful every year. Any student, faculty, or staff member interested in helping can sign up on MavSYNC.

Wellness Blood Screening

Don't miss the opportunity to "know your numbers" and find out vital information about your current health.
Starting Wednesday, October 12 students, faculty, staff, alumni, and retirees of the UNO community can sign up.
All lab draws require a 12 hour fast. Appointments will be scheduled from 6:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.
Pre-registration and pre-payment/or if filing with insurance is required to participate in the Wellness Blood Screen.
Option 1 - Health Screen $40
Tests included: thyroid, cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides and glucose. Also tests that detect cell disorders and chemical imbalances for the kidneys and liver.
Option 2 - Health Screen + PSA $50
Test included: all of the above and the Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) test - for men ages 50 & older or 45 with a family history.
Option 3 - Hemoglobin A1C $20
Screening tests for diabetes.
Option 4 - Vitamin D $35
Vitamin D plays an important role in prevention of bone disease, muscle strength, cancer prevention, cardiovascular risk, etc.
Option 5 - HS - CRP $35
Recognizing that atherosclerosis (plaques lining the surface of our coronary arteries) involves a chronic inflammatory process has brought greater attention to arterial “inflammation” as a risk factor for heart attack and stroke. HS - CRP is an inflammatory marker.

If you are a benefits eligible UNO employee or retiree, you can use your Wellness Blood Screen results to complete you annual Health Risk Assessment (HRA). The 2017 NUFlex Benefits Enrollment and Health Risk Assessment will begin on Monday, October 31 and will run through Friday, November 18, 2016.
