Katherine received her Master’s degree in Community Counseling from UNO in 2010. She is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and has been with CAPS professionally since 2012. In addition, Katherine has taught Stress Management for the Health Education department and enjoys presenting on such topics as Healthy Relationships, Mindfulness and Stress, and Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention.
Along with the entire CAPS staff, Katherine provides a safe space for counseling with special attention to multicultural considerations. She serves as the CAPS liaison to the Office of Military and Veteran Services on campus as well as for Lez Bi Real Queer, a social support group offered by UNO’s Queer and Trans Services. In 2013, Katherine coordinated the opening of UNO’s Maverick Food Pantry, and she continues to have an interest in food insecurity and nutrition’s effect on mental health.
In her free time, Katherine enjoys a balancing act between time with loved ones, travel, reading, and yoga.
