Cheryl has been a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner with the Counseling Center since 2008. She received her Masters of Human Relations and Multicultural Counseling from the University of Oklahoma in 1994, and she completed more graduate work in Human and Organizational Development and Family Systems at the Fielding Institute in 2003.
Cheryl received special training for intimate partner and domestic violence through the YWCA and Domestic Violence Coalition. She has provided crisis counseling for several years. Experience in community counseling, through the Center for Holistic Development, Inc., began in 2001.
Cheryl has experience working with anxiety disorders, life stage transitions, loss and grief. Certification in Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) group facilitation and establishing a NAMI on Campus chapter are her top interests.
In addition to counseling, Cheryl has several years of Student Affairs experience as an academic advisor and teaching Student Success Strategies. She enjoys time with family and traveling.
