Mav Kids Youth Program

Mav Kids offers a variety of youth-targeted programs, open to children of UNO students, faculty and staff, alumni, and the general public. The goal of Mav Kids is to provide a safe and fun environment where children can learn, build relationship skills, and become active. 

Mini Mav Kids

Session I - Sports Development

Saturdays this fall - October 13 to November 17
10 A.M. - 11 A.M. | 126 H&K, MAC court | Ages 3-5

UNO Mav Kids and the National Alliance of Youth Sports is running two Start Smart Programs this summer: Sports Development and Soccer which are each five-week instructional programs that help parents work one-on-one with their children while teaching them the basics of sports. The Sport Development program will cover throwing, catching, kicking and batting. The soccer will work with technical basics along with focus on the basics of the sport. Registration price is for child and parent teams (parent must attend and participate with the child).

Mav Kids Halloween Party

Saturday, October 27 - 1:00 to 4:00 P.M.

Come and enjoy this safe Halloween Day with carnival style games and activities aimed for children ages 8 and younger.

Games, photo booth, wellness vendors and a special stage show.

We will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Omaha Food Bank, towels and blankets for the Town and Country Humane Society, and new or gently loved stuffed animals for the Mav Kids Teddy Bear Tuesday’s program that collects stuffed animals for children at local family shelters and local hospitals.

Parents are responsible for supervision of their children.

Mav Kids Summer Day Camp 2019

Exploring the Dimensions of Wellness

June 3 - July 26 (no camp the week of July 1-5)
Registration begins in February 18th.

Mav Kids Summer Day Camp is a recreational day camp offering seven separate, one-week sessions that provide educational theme-based instruction allowing social interaction of campers with each other and the UNO community. The mission is to provide unique camping experiences within the safety of the UNO campus community, to develop and maintain respect for people, places and objects by developing youth leadership skills, to develop the ability to achieve goals through hands-on learning, communication and team-building activities, and to explore new frontiers.

  • A $40 deposit is required.

  • Deposits are non-refundable and are applied to the total cost of the session(s).

  • Campus Rec member must hold membership while child is attending camp.
