Explain the main reason that you have for wanting to run for Student Government.
I am running for re-election in student government because I believe that senators have the opportunity to make a positive impact on campus. I hope to positively impact students' experiences at UNO through working on policy changes and increased student services.
Provide an issue that you think should be changed or improved on campus.
As a CPACS senator for the 2017-18 school year, I have worked on projects like re-activating a dormant honor society for CPACS students, and ensuring that the student government provided charging stations remain fully functional for student use. In the future, I hope to continue to improve services for students, specifically through more programming options for everyone to get involved on campus.
What makes you qualified to sit on Student Government?
I have been very involved on UNO's campus for the past three years. Other than being an active member of student government, I am a member of the CPACS emergency management and community service group Mavready, and the director of fundraising for the organization Latin@'s in STEM.
I have also worked for the Gateway, UNO's student newspaper, for the past three years. Working at the paper has allowed me to gain experience working with a large team, and given me the ability to stay up to date on issues important to students.
