The issue I want to tackle on campus is breaking the gym stigma. HPER is a wonderful place to be for physical and mental wellness, but a lot of students are intimidated to go. I want to find a solution that will show students the ropes, to starting a healthy life style, which will hopefully lead to a lifetime of wellness. A big part of why I am running for Student Government is to lead students to a consistent wellness program, which I hope will be the catalysis to an overall wonderful college experiences.
Please describe in one to two paragraphs what makes you qualified to sit on Student Government.
Through my experience as a First year peer mentor for the Thompson Learning Community, I have developed a fundamental understanding on how the UNO system works. Through my experiences, I have developed excellent communication and leadership skill with all walks of life. I pride myself on being able to see all perspective in an unbiased fashion. I am a strong believer on viewing all facts before producing a conclusion. The underdog of me, allows me to look out for everyone’s interests, without completely destroying the shoes of others. What makes me qualified to be parts of Student Government is the student body itself.
