Please provide in one to two paragraphs an issue that you think should be changed or improved on
My main priority as a senator will be adjusting requirements for general education credits. The current system in my opinion is broken and can be changed to create better well rounded students. Many credits are spent on classes that some don't need or want. These credits can be more focused or spent on something the student actually wants to pursue rather than something that will be forgotten after a final. The option to choose is something that I value above most. It is a personal responsibility to choose how one wants to invest in themselves.
Please describe in one to two paragraphs what makes you qualified to sit on Student Government.
Student government is something that I really enjoy and am very adept to do. In high school I participated in competitive extemporaneous speaking and qualified for state three years. This experience allowed me to become the person I am today. Constructing arguments and critical thinking are two very valuable skills drawn from this. Along with this, I possess a lot of leadership experience. Becoming an Eagle Scout is a prime example of this. To become an Eagle Scout one is required to find, solve, and execute a large project that benefits the community. This required sixty hours of time invested on my part. Besides this I have excelled in many organizations such as FFA and FBLA. In these organizations I qualified and competed in national competitions sophomore through senior year. These are just a few of my qualifications, but most importantly I am qualified because I am determined to make changes and represent my constituents.
