Please provide in one to two paragraphs an issue that you think should be changed or improved onThe biggest "issues" that I would like to focus on if I were to be elected are transparency and feedback. Too often I hear students complain that they had no idea a change was going to happen on campus in regards to a policy or rule they feel they had no say in. If elected, I would do my best to make sure students know what is going on at the state, administrative, and campus level, and how it will impact them. Additionally, before I were to sign off on a piece of legislation or vote on a proposed policy, I would ensure that the student's I represent had a chance to share their input and know the facts of the case before it is implemented. Through the release of PR statements, documents, and making myself as accessible as possible, I hope to accomplish this goal.
Please describe in one to two paragraphs what makes you qualified to sit on Student Government
My experience speaks for itself. I have been a Student Senator for 3 years, have served as Interim Treasurer, Director of the Maverick Readership Program, served on the Student Activities Budget Commission for 2 years, and served the last year as Speaker of the Senate. I believe I have the knowledge, experience, and drive to best serve the student body at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I believe my background knowledge of Student Government, as well as the day to day operations of the University makes me best qualified to serve on Student Government as President.
