Please provide in one to two paragraphs an issue that you think should be changed or improved on
1. Shuttle frequency and timings: I have heard from the students who have joined earlier than me that shuttles used to more frequent and timely. But now they aren't. Students who have joined this university newly, face maximum inconvenience. They expect the shuttles to arrive but it keeps them waiting. I have observed that many times two shuttles come almost together but after that for 15-20mins , there is no more shuttle. After 10pm, shuttles become far less frequent even if they within operating hours. I would propose a solution of shuttle availability at fixed timings timings with maximum 3mins delay.2. My second issue is recent spam emails. I myself got two of them stating that part time jobs are available that will pay $300 per week and so on. Students who are in need of money may fall for such spams. We also got alerts that phishing is on the rise. Students might be hampered. I Would like to create an awareness and take ideas from the cyber security department regarding means to avoid phishing.
Please describe in one to two paragraphs what makes you qualified to sit on Student Government.
I am a dedicated and an extremely punctual person. I prefer quick solutions and taking the ownership of the task in hand. I have handled leadership positions previously and have an experience. I have always been upfront as a student and at work to mitigate any inconvenience that people faces or to report/rectify an issue that is affecting to a wider section of people. I like to put across solutions in the form of tasks with realistic deadlines. I believe deadlines and a vision make a person more determined. I have that determination. During my undergrad and at work, I have voluntarily spoken to the respective authorities about any issue that employees or students face. I also used to propose solutions and most of the times it was taken into account. I always have clear goals in mind and I can pave my way to achieve it. I believe in collaboration. So I can be a team player. I know how to utilize the strengths and weaknesses of the people and take suggestions/criticisms. I am sure I have the abilities to be a part of Student Government.
