OrgSync is the online platform the Office of Student Involvement currently uses for all registered student organizations. The system will be going through significant changes but we've got all the information to keep you informed during the transition.
What is MavSYNC?
MavSYNC launched in 2013 and is currently used by student organizations to communicate with its members and the UNO community, store and share files, create surveys and applications, manage events and calendars, and much more.
Why is UNO changing MavSYNC?
The parent company for MavSYNC, Orgsync, was purchased by another company and they began transitioning to a new platform that would no longer be supported by 2019.
When will the transition to Engage happen?
The transition to Engage will happen between May 24th and May 25th. We will spend the remainder of that time (up to July 1) building and finalizing the transition with each area.
How will this affect students?
Unless the students have any need for MavSYNC between May 24 and July1, the effect should be minimal. They will need to be on the lookout for more information regarding trainings and information sessions. If they have a need to utilized the system while it is down, they will need to make arrangements to utilize a different platform. They can contact me or Jason for assistance.
How will this affect faculty and staff?
Similar to students. If they use it during the down time, they need to make plans for an additional platform. They should also be prepared to attend trainings as department users and/or organization advisors to help students with the transition.
What do I need to do before the transition happens?
Determine the ways that you are currently utilizing MavSYNC. If there is any data from forms, events participation, etc that you might need, please export that information before May 24th. The forms will transfer over but the data (responses) within them will not transfer. Please export that information and store it in a place so that it can be uploaded to your new organization page. I would suggest putting it in the files area within your current MavSYNC portal, that information will migrate over to Engage. If you have questions on how to do that, please reach out and we will assist in making sure your data is saved and secure.
It is also necessary to assess any areas or ways that you would have used MavSYNC between May 24th and July 1st. If you have an area or form that is critical for any summer projects, please do not hesitate to use the Start Your Project request or contact Dustin Wolfe, Raechel Meyer, or Jason Buzzell to determine the best way to overcome the absence of MavSYNC.
