Ollie is from Omaha, NE, and is a sophomore studying Civil Engineering. Their non-profit experience includes partnering with Arbor Bank. As a community action project, their team developed creative solutions to improve personable customer service during the pandemic and beyond. As a team, they identified two needs within the organization and are currently prototyping and developing solutions for advertising and talent recruitment. They proposed a redesign for their social media platforms to increase the size and reach of their internship program. Their internship experience includes collaborating with a small group of fellow Scott Scholars charged with utilizing the Stanford D. School design thinking methodology to reimagine higher education and whole-person learning, including technical and essential skills. This past summer, they served as a field engineering intern for Kiewit CO.in the pipe department on the Indeck Niles Energy Center project. Their career interests include civil engineering, environmental conservation, renewable energy, and better living through innovation. Their primary responsibilities included completing daily quality and claiming walks, managing and completing quality checklists for pipe supports throughout the job site, and supporting craft in the field.
