BioKelly is from Gretna, NE and is studying architectural engineering. She remains active on campus by participating in numerous student organizations in her field of study. Kelly serves at the activities and recruitment chair for UNO’s American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) student chapter. As the recruitment chair, she works to recruit students and organize activities for the student chapter, along with the Young Engineers in ASHRAE events. Kelly is also heavily involved in the Mechanical Contractor’s Association Leadership Academy, and she has had multiple opportunities to attend national conferences with the group. As a member of the Freshman Engineering Student Council at Omaha, Kelly has been able to build her understanding of the Complete Engineer Initiative. She currently serves on the Scott Scholar Leadership Council to help voice the views of her fellow classmates to help improve the program. In her future, Kelly hopes to work on HVAC systems within large commercial buildings and increase their efficiency. She is especially interested in the mechanical systems within healthcare and mission-critical projects.
