Bio
Kelly is from Gretna, NE, and is studying architectural engineering. Her non-profit experience includes partnering with Prairie STEM and Girls in STEAM. As a community action project, they hosted multiple events for middles school girls promoting careers in STEM. Her leadership experience includes participating as the vice president for the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers. In this role, she organized activities to engage professional members and fellow college students. She also participated in the MCA Leadership Academy, where she raised money for Heats On Omaha and performed service calls. She would visit the homes of underprivileged and elderly residents and assist in checking the heating systems, filters, and smoke detectors in their homes. Her internship experience includes working as a project management intern at The Waldinger Corporation in Omaha. In this role, she worked to coordinate submittals, schedules, and purchasing with vendors, as well as estimation. She was able to gain experience on the job site and see projects from beginning to end. This summer, she will be working at Specialized Engineering Solutions as a mechanical engineer. Her career interests include the mechanical specialty of architectural engineering, specifically HVAC systems within healthcare and mission-critical.
