Hailey Bixler

Bio

Hailey is from Neligh, NE, and is studying computer science.

Her non-profit experience includes partnering with RISE, an organization that connects prisoners to stable jobs and housing upon re-entry into society. As a community action project, her team assembled a toolkit for participants to develop their ideas and gather information to pitch business ideas.

Her leadership experience includes serving as a freshman representative for the Scott Scholars Leadership Council. Her contributions include co-leading design thinking demonstrations, interviewing Scott Scholars candidates, and further developing the Scott Scholars Ambassador program. She and two peers were also responsible for developing a curriculum to reduce suicidal ideation in Marines as part of the National Security Innovation Network.

Her career interests include using artificial intelligence to create a positive change in the world. She hopes to apply computer science to fields such as mental health, agriculture, and health care to help those in need.
