Gage is from Beatrice, NE and is studying mathematics and computer science. His leadership experience includes being a member of Pi Mu Epsilon, a national mathematics society. His internship experience includes working as a software engineering intern in the IT department of the asset management team at Union Pacific. As an intern, he is responsible for developing projects, writing code, and maintaining in-house programs and applications used by many other employees across the country. He also wrote programs for locomotive cataloging and worked on full stack project development. His research experience includes working with Dr. Ying Hu in the mathematics department at UNO, researching tessellations and hyperbolic structures on the surface of the once-punctured torus. As part of the project, he wrote a visualization program for said tessellations and structures. His career interests include continuing his education pursuing a graduate degree focusing on algebraic or geometric group theory.
