What is Career Currency?
Career Currency is the term for the exciting new partnership program providing educational funding for employees of Omaha-based employer partners.
This program enhances workforce development and career advancement by providing funding upfront to eligible employees and eliminates the need to seek reimbursement. The University of Nebraska at Omaha is proud to partner with several Omaha-area organizations to offer this exceptional benefit to employees.

The UNO Career Currency Concierge Team is made up of undergraduate, graduate, online learning, and advising professionals dedicated to supporting students from employer partners. The Concierge Team works one-on-one with every student to navigate each step of the process and ensures a smooth transition to UNO. How do I get started?
Review your employer's educational assistance benefit page for UNO-specific policies and how to verify your eligibility. If unable to locate, contact your employer's Human Resources department and request information about the UNO educational partnership and what next steps they recommend.
What costs are covered? Is there a limit?
Employer partners provide educational funding for eligible employees upfront which eliminates the need for employees to seek reimbursement. Costs covered and limitations vary by each employer partner; please reach out to the UNO Concierge Team at careercurrency@unomaha.edu to learn more about your specific situation.
Do I have restrictions on what programs I can pursue?
The educational partnership covers credit-bearing courses offered by UNO, and it does not cover courses or programs offered through the other University of Nebraska campuses. UNO offers more than 200 programs across 6 different colleges, and employees are encouraged to pursue both undergraduate and graduate programs. I work full-time. Can I take online classes?
Absolutely! UNO has been ranked by the U.S. News & World Report for Best Online Programs in 2020. We understand that students don’t always have time for classes between eight and five and juggle many life commitments. We are proud to offer a number of online programs and will work with you to determine a path that best fits your goals, interests, and schedule.
Do I have to maintain a specific GPA?
All Career Currency students must maintain good academic standing according to UNO's Academic Catalogs in order to meet employer eligibility for educational funding under this program. What if I become ineligible?
