United Way and Give Nebraska Campaigns

October 24 - November 11, 2022

This annual effort is so important to who we are as a campus community because, as we say, Omaha is our campus and when we say that we do not simply talk the talk, we walk the walk.

From Oct. 24 through Nov. 11, you will have several opportunities to give back, including a new one-stop portal where you can make an easy one-time or recurring donation through a variety of options, as well as the chance to round up purchases made on campus.

Our goal this year is to not just improve over last year, but set our sights as high as we can by having our campaign hit a goal of $18,000!

During this time, anyone on campus is able to donate directly by “rolling up” their purchases on campus at the following locations:

  • UNO Bookstore
  • Milo Bail Student Center Food Court
  • Maverick Den
  • Library Café

Every little bit helps us reach our goal!

United Today, Stronger Tomorrow.

With your support, we can continue to help those who are struggling right here in the metro.

When you make a gift, you’re investing in more than 100 local nonprofit programs alongside thousands of other donors. Together, these programs are addressing pressing social and economic disparities and meeting families’ essential needs, such as healthy food, a safe place to go after school, and a stable job.

That means, with just one donation, you are creating an entire circle of support around our community.

Because UWM is committed to keeping our costs low, you can feel good knowing 93¢ of every dollar you donate is going back into our community. United Way of the Midlands also collects program results, measures impact, and shares it with you so you can see the results of your investment firsthand.

This year, United Way has set up a one-stop shop portal to help you choose the donation method that works well for you.

By using your NUID and the password “Community22!” employees can choose to donate through a one-time online payment via Credit Card or being billed directly by United Way. As an additional option, benefits-eligible employees can also opt to make one payment or a series of payments over the course of a year through a payroll deduction.

Make your online e-pledge today!

Give Nebraska

As an alternative or in addition to supporting the United Way of the Midlands, faculty and staff are also asked to consider supporting Give Nebraska, which is another great organization that helps connect Mavericks to the causes they care about most.

Founded in Lincoln, Neb. in 1981, Give Nebraska exists to connect you to the causes you care most about.

Those interested can donate to Give Nebraska.

Together, the Maverick family can make a dramatic impact in the communities in which live and serve that will last for years to come.
