About the Ivers Award

The Ivers Award is a grant for $2,000 that can be used for educational expenses such as books, computer equipment, computer supplies, career wear, unreimbursed travel for job interviews, etc.

Eligibility

The Ivers Award honors currently enrolled UNO undergraduate students who can demonstrate an exemplary record of community service and leadership affecting women and girls. Students must have a minimum of Junior class standing with expected graduation no later than May 2022, and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

About Marian Ivers

Marian Ivers was a single mother who rose to the highest heights of professional and community leadership in Omaha, ultimately serving as the first Executive Vice President of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce. On the way, she encouraged, inspired, and mentored hundreds of women to do the same.

Her legacy continues today in the organizations she played an integral part in creating and leading: Leadership Omaha, the Women’s Fund of Omaha, and the Institute for Career Advancement Needs (ICAN). Dynamically involved in the community, she demonstrated the highest ideals of servant leadership through her active participation in over 20 community boards. She received multiple recognitions and awards for these activities, but her greatest passion was supporting other women in their professional pursuits.
