Effective Aug. 1, permits will be available to purchase through MavPARK with a variety of payment options available, which are included below.

Permit Costs

Following approval from the Board of Regents, the price of parking permits will be increasing nominally after being held at the same levels since the 2017-2018 academic year.

The new fees, which average only $1 to $1.50 more per month for annual and semester permit holders, will help cover increased costs due to rising fuel prices for shuttles and additional costs impacted by inflation.

Updated permit options will be available in MavPark beginning the morning of Aug. 1.

A listing of new pricing are available on the Parking and Transit Services website.

There still remain a wide variety of permit types, at varying costs, to choose from, including surface lots, garage lots, night-only parking, and parking at annual or semester levels for students, or annual, monthly, or biweekly for employees.

Open Parking

Permits will go into effect on Monday, Aug. 22, on the first day of classes. From Aug. 1-21 the campus will institute open parking, meaning all students, faculty, staff, and guests can park in any surface or garage stall except reserved, ADA, motorcycle, visitor, carpool, electric vehicle charging spaces, pay-to-park timed stalls regardless of permit or permit type.

Ways to Pay

To log into MavPARK, you will need your general UNO login information, which includes a NetID and password (what you use to sign into your UNO email). If you have not signed up for a permit through MavPARK in the past or have a different vehicle you would like to register through MavPARK, please have your vehicle’s make, model, license plate number, and VIN number available.

Permits are available for purchase through credit card or through monthly or biweekly payroll deductions if you are a UNO employee. Students purchases will be billed through MavLINK.

Other Changes

In order to enhance parking options on campus and make operations more efficient, serveral other changes will be in effect beginning Fall 2023.

More details on these changes will be shared with campus closer to the start of the fall semester:

  • Lot H will change its status from a student lot to a mixed permit lot
  • Lot D will continue to offer bonus parking options
  • Reciprocal permits between UNO-UNL campuses are being adjusted
  • GTAs will be able to purchse general student permits instead of designated GTA permits
  • Visitor and contractor permits will have new purchase options
