The Academic & Career Development Center (ACDC) will host the Fall 2020 Virtual All-Majors Career & Internship Fair on Oct. 8 and Nov. 10 via Handshake.
Over 130 employers – many of which plan to hire from any major - will be in attendance. Students will have the opportunity to meet with employers via 1:1, ten-minute, virtual sessions, as well as virtual 30-minute group sessions. This is a great opportunity for students to connect with organizations actively recruiting interns and full-time positions from diverse industries and backgrounds.
Introducing the Faculty Career Fair Challenge
Knowing that students value faculty input, ACDC has created a faculty career fair challenge. This challenge provides faculty with three easy-to-implement tactics to promote the Fall Career & Internship Fair:
1. Welcome ACDC for a Short Classroom Presentation
We welcome the opportunity to give a 5-10 minute virtual overview to your course about the career fair, ACDC services and how students can best prepare. Please let us know if there is a date between Sept. 8 - Nov. 9 that would work for us to present virtually to your classroom for a brief presentation by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or filling out this online form.
2. Host your Class at the Fair
If your course meets on Thursday, Oct. 8 between 1 P.M. and 5 P.M., or Nov. 10 between 10 A.M. and 2 P.M., we invite faculty/staff to host your class at the Virtual Fair! Many faculty have used this option in the past for an abbreviated lecture and then let students attend the fair and connect the classroom to careers. Please note, students will need to register for the virtual career fairs via Handshake in order to participate.
3. PowerPoint Slide to be Featured Before the Start of Class
We know that classroom time is limited. We also know that students often arrive to class early. ACDC is willing to provide a brief presentation about the virtual career fairs, that faculty can embed in classroom presentations leading up to the career fair.
Please contact the Academic & Career Development Center to get started at email@example.com.
