Robert Muelleman is Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
He grew up in North Omaha, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) in 1979, an M.D. from UNMC in 1984, and trained in emergency medicine at UMKC /Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He served on the emergency medicine faculty at UMKC/Truman Medical Center as the Research Director.
Since returning to UNMC in 1998, he was able to recruit an academic faculty, establish an emergency medicine training program, and create a new Department of Emergency Medicine.
Nationally, he has served as Chair of the ACGME Emergency Medicine Residency Review Committee, and is currently on the Executive Committee of the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Internationally, he has consulted in Singapore, Qatar, and Lebanon regarding issues with emergency medicine training and certification.
