Food insecurity is becoming more evident on college campuses, and UNO is no exception. UNO’s Maverick Food Pantry aims to contribute to UNO’s culture of caring by providing resources to those in immediate need and connecting them with additional resources in the greater Omaha area for long-term support.
This is why the NU Foundation is supporting the Maverick Food Pantry raise funds to support those in need over the holiday season.

The Maverick Food Pantry offers food and personal hygiene products to all members of the UNO community by providing healthy, organic and culturally sensitive items. For the 2018-2019 academic year, 1,257 bag requests were made through the Maverick Food Pantry, up 158% from the 2017-2018 academic year.
This fall, the NU Foundation hopes to raise $5,000 in support of the Maverick Food Pantry. This would give us the resources to provide our services through the end of the year, which often represents some of the most difficult months for food-insecure individuals.
Just $5 can help buy important food items and supplies and just $15 can provide one bag of food for a Maverick in need. Please consider providing a gift to the Maverick Food Pantry today.
Are you in need of support through the Maverick Food Pantry? The Maverick Food Pantry offers food and personal hygiene products to UNO faculty, staff members, and currently-enrolled students by providing healthy, organic, and culturally sensitive items. Requests for food packages can be submitted through an easy online form twice a week.
