“Our 2017 schedule is packed with some of the biggest hits of recent time and some of the most beloved classics of all-time. It is going to be absolutely fantastic seeing families and friends come down, relax and spend some quality time together,” said Molly Skold, Midtown Crossing’s vice-president of marketing and communications.
With the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) back as sponsor, the 2017 series features a blockbuster line-up, a special night in partnership with Film Streams, Omaha’s non-profit cinema, and a brand-new Student Choice Night.

This is the second year-in-a-row both UNO and Film Streams have partnered with Midtown Crossing to enhance the popular summer series.
“We are so excited to once again be able to bring Monday Night at the Movies to Midtown Crossing. We like to say that Omaha is our campus, and this series is such a fun and positive way for us to connect with the community that we serve,” said Emily Poeschl, Director of Marketing, UNO’s Office of University Communications.
Film Streams Deputy Director Casey Logan said, “It was truly a special thing to watch an 80-year-old Chaplin classic (Modern Times) in the park last summer. This year, we're hoping as many people as possible turn out to enjoy The Wiz. We appreciate the work Midtown Crossing does to stage the series and the support of the University of Nebraska at Omaha that makes it happen.”
In keeping with tradition, all of the outdoor movies – free and open to the public – will roll at sunset on a 26-foot inflatable screen in Omaha’s Turner Park. Once again, Chicago Dawg House will have its food truck on-site for those who would like to buy dinner in the park. For the added convenience of its guests, Midtown Crossing offers three hours of free garage parking. On-street parking is also free after 9 p.m.
“There’s nothing like partnering with Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise and Charlie Chaplin to help bring families, friends and the community together. Treat yourself to dinner, lay out a blanket and plan to pause the ‘to do list’ as we press ‘play’ on what’s become one of our favorite summer traditions,” said Molly Skold, Midtown Crossing’s vice-president of marketing and communications.
