Students, faculty and staff at UNO are asking the Omaha community to help make the holidays a little brighter for families in need. Here are current and upcoming donation drives where you can help make a difference:
Open Door Mission Toilet Paper Drive (Dec. 1 - 18)
With 816 safe shelter beds being provided for men, women and children, toilet paper is always in high demand.
Drop off any donated toilet paper inside EAB 209.
Nebraska Medicine Book Drive (Dec. 1 - 18)
Business and Finance is collecting new books for the Pediatric Unit at Nebraska Medicine. They're looking for books for babies and teens and all ages in between. Donations can be dropped off inside EAB 209.
Food Fight in the Summit League (Nov. 29 - Jan. 18)
Join Baxter Arena and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee to help collect food for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. This year, UNO Athletics is partnering with WOWT to provide ample opportunities for you to donate.
Anyone who donates 2 or more canned food items at these following events will receive a free ticket to future designated Men’s or Women’s Basketball games at Baxter Arena.
Find out which games to bring your donation and which games you can win tickets for by visiting the Food Fight in the Summit League page.
