The 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance Day is an opportunity for Mavericks to unite and assist the community. Service projects will assist local fire departments and veteran organizations, and those who participate can choose from a variety of service projects during check-in. Please make sure to wear closed toe shoes and clothing you do not mind getting dirty.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to assist organizations including the American Red Cross, Keep Omaha Beautiful, Eastern Nebraska Veterans' Home, Omaha Fire Department, Papillion Fire Department, Victory Apartments and VFW Post 10727.
We will have provide breakfast and lunch to all volunteers. All service hours will be tracked through your MavCARD on MavSYNC.
Volunteers should arrive to the Weitz CEC at 8:30 am and the event will conclude at 2:00 pm. If you are not available the whole day, there will be projects taking place in the CEC.

8:30 AM - Check-In: sign up for a service project and eat breakfast
9:00 AM - Shuttle service provided from UNO to service project sites
9:30 AM - 1:00 PM - Serve at service project site
1:00 PM - Shuttle service provided from service project sites back to UNO
1:30 PM - Lunch at UNO
