All UNO students, staff, faculty and Omaha community members are invited to attend the 8th annual Dr. Chuck Powell Memorial Lecture on Monday, Sept. 16, 2019 from 1 P.M. - 2 P.M. in UNO's Thompson Alumni Center.
Julie Kaminski is the featured speaker. She is the Senior Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer for Immanuel senior living. In her role, Julie provides strategic leadership and direction for all of Immanuel’s services, spanning a two-state region including Omaha, Lincoln, Des Moines and Council Bluffs.
With a master’s degree in Gerontology, Julie has held leadership positions at LeadingAge Nebraska, Notre Dame Housing and Life Care Services. Her passion for seniors and service led her to participate as an adjunct instructor for the University of Nebraska-Omaha’s Gerontology Department. She has served on numerous aging committees including Advancing Excellence LANE, DHHS Advisory Board, the Medicaid Advisory Assistance Council, The Dreamweaver Foundation and Scripps Gerontology Center Alumni Advisory Board.
