UNO wants to see your GRIT.
The UNO/UNMC Administrative Professionals Day Planning Committee wants to create greater engagement and synergy among administrative professionals on both the UNO and UNMC campuses.
"This year's Administrators Professionals Day Virtual Celebration is the perfect catalyst," said Linda Cunningham, associate director of UNO and UNMC human resources. "The theme this year, 'GRIT,' is an acronym for growth, resilience, inspiration and tenacity."
To explore the characteristics of GRIT, one-hour presentations have been planned over the coming months, culminating on Administrative Professionals Day in April, with guest speaker Aileen Warren, associate vice chancellor and executive director of human resources for UNO and UNMC. She will present on the final topic: "T for Tenacity."
All sessions will be held virtually through Bridge. Administrative professionals should have already received an invitation. Those who have not can register through Bridge or email Giovanni Jones.
Sessions
Resilience
Tuesday, Feb. 23 | 10 - 11 A.M. | Enroll
For the month of February, Tara Rye, D.Ed.Min, will present on the topic of "Resilience."
You have likely heard of your Intelligence Quotient (IQ), Emotional Intelligence (EQ), and maybe Cultural Intelligence CQ), but what about your Resilient Quotient (RQ)?
What makes a person resilient? How does someone move through difficult circumstances and grow rather than shrink? Resilience is an essential component in the workforce and is a contributing factor to personal success. Did you know that resilience is learnable and achievable? What are key factors that will help you grow resilience? Join this session to discuss how to grow your RQ!
Inspiration
Tuesday, March 23 | Noon - 1 P.M. | Enroll
For the month of March, Perris Scott, administrative associate in the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions, will discuss the topic of "Inspiration."
Scott spent about 15 years in the Air Force on active duty and currently serves in the Air National Guard out of Lincoln, Neb. She’s been stationed in England, Japan, and Afghanistan.
Tenacity
