The Office of Military and Veteran Services is holding its Military-Affiliated Student Training for this fall semester and we invite you all to join.
Training will take place Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019 from Noon - 1:30 P.M. in 132D CPACS. The training will be no longer than one hour, with time for Q/A with a Student Veteran and OMVS staff. A light lunch will be provided.
This training will give faculty and staff background in working with the military-affiliated student population, understanding the student experience, and the university and community resources provided for them. In this training, we review student perspectives and needs, the function of the Office of Military and Veteran Services, and how faculty and staff can work together for the benefit of veterans, active duty, guard/reserve, and dependent students.
Faculty and staff will leave equipped with resources for this student population, how to work through common questions and concerns, and will be provided with a door decal to demonstrate to the community that you have been through this training. We also give this training to individual offices, tailoring the content to your needs, and are happy to meet one-on-one with you or your staff to answer specific question.
