Organizers hope a production of “The Defamation Experience” will spark meaningful conversations about some of the most pressing social issues of our time.
The traveling courtroom drama arrives at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 6 P.M. in the College of Public Affairs and Community Service Building. The production is free and open to the public along with the greater campus community. No permit is required to park in general use stalls on weekends.
“The Defamation Experience” presents the audience with a courtroom case that explores highly charged issues of race, class, religion, gender and the law. There’s a twist: the audience plays the jury. Performed more than 450 times nationwide, “The Defamation Experience” has been seen by more than 100,000 people.
University of Nebraska Central Administration is bringing the production to UNO as well as its three sister universities. The UNO production is in partnership with UNO’s Office of Multicultural Affairs.
