Tryouts begin with a clinic on Thursday, June 14 from 6:30 P.M. - 8:30 P.M. Actual tryouts will take place Saturday, June 16 from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Both the clinic and tryouts will take place inside the SAPP Field House on the UNO campus.
Required by June 13 are the following:
- A physical completed within the past year for all new members
- $25 tryout fee in cash or checks made payable to UNO Cheer Team
- Front and back copy of insurance card- Must have insurance to tryout.
- Current photo
- Tryout application form
- Completed all online athletic training forms
- Proof of acceptance to the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a GPA of at least 2.75 with a minimum of 12 credit hours.

All tryout material will be taught to you during the clinic on Thursday, including the sideline chants, fight song and/or a sideline dance. You will also be assessed on jumps and tumbling (not required but highly recommended). Tryouts are closed to the public.On Saturday, all tryout participants will perform all learned material for a panel of judges and coach in small groups. Judges will score tumbling at this time as well. Everyone must remain present the entire time during the tryout process. There is the potential you will be called back to perform for the judges again if necessary.
- Black athletic or spandex style shorts
- Black sports bra
- White athletic shoes
- Hair should be worn half up/down with a red bow
- No jewelry
- Tattoos must be covered
- Clothing worn must be free of school names or logos
Please come with a game day ready appearance, you will be judged on appearance and overall image.
