The Witchita Mountains Wildlife Refuge Is located in southwest Oklahoma and covers an area of more than 59,000 acres. The remarkable landscape is dominated by rugged granite mountains, oak forests, and mixed grass prairies. These unspoiled lands provide excellent habitat and protection for herds of bison and elk, and for numerous other native and migratory species.
UNO Outdoor Venture Center will drive down to this beautiful area for a Spring Break climbing trip. All participants need to be belay authorized at the OVC Climbing Wall before departure. Those not already authorized can register for a class for free. The group will camp and climb each day. The climbing will be top-rope only and range from beginner level and up. No experience is required before this trip. All levels are welcome.
